Welder Fabricator

Summary:

Able to read and understand prints for new equipment as well as the ability to repair or rebuild existing equipment. Other tasks may be assigned by your supervisor.

Education and/or Experience:

Experience in welding and fabricating and willingness to learn

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.             

                                            

Other Skills and Abilities:

Preferred but no required; Experience with aluminum/stainless steel, and steel. Experience with pipe fitting and welding.  Proficient with Mig, Tig, Stick, Plasma, oxy-acetylene torch, milling machine and metal lathe. Must have experience repairing irrigation mainline, aluminum pipe associated with a farm. Be able to perform structural repairs to trailers and other equipment per manufacturer’s guidelines. Be able to design and fabricate conveyors, augers, etc associated to farm and plant production facility. Be able to fabricate tanks, water, fuel, etc. Must provide own leathers, gloves, helmet and basic set of tools required to perform job. May be required to help with other projects besides welding and fabrication. Weekend and nights will be required from time to time, especially during harvest season.  Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This is a shop and plant environment indoor as well as outdoor.
