Swathing Manager

Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of agriculture related workers.  Plan, direct, coordinate the harvesting of crops.

 

Occupation Specific Tasks:

Arrange for transportation, equipment, and living quarters for seasonal workers.

Assign duties such as harvesting of crops or plants and equipment maintenance.

Calculate and monitor budgets for maintenance and development of collections, grounds, and infrastructure.

Confer with managers to evaluate weather and harvest schedule.

Direct or assist with the adjustment and repair of farm equipment and machinery.

Drive and operate farm machinery such as trucks, tractors, or self-propelled harvesters in order to transport workers and supplies, or to cultivate and harvest fields.

Estimate labor requirements for jobs, and plan work schedules accordingly.

Inspect crops, fields, and plant stock to determine conditions and need for harvesting.

Inspect facilities to determine maintenance needs.

Investigate grievances and settle disputes to maintain harmony among workers.

Issue equipment such as farm implements, machinery, ladders, or containers to workers, and collect equipment when work is complete.

Observe workers to detect inefficient and unsafe work procedures or to identify problems, initiating corrective action as necessary.

Perform the same agricultural duties as subordinates.

Prepare and maintain time and payroll reports, as well as details of personnel actions such as performance evaluations, hires, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

Prepare reports regarding farm conditions, crop yields, machinery breakdowns, or labor problems.

 Recruit and discharge workers.

Requisition supplies such as machine parts or lubricants, and tools.

Review employees' work to evaluate quality and quantity.

Train workers in techniques such as harvesting, and insect identification, and in the use of safety measures.

Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Export Documentation Specialist

Standlee Trading Company

 

Summary: Inputs data from various sources to produce documentation needed for export. Applies for/provides necessary certificates based on import country requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

Handle international documentation;

Talks with customers by phone, email or in person

Fills out computer booking information from invoices and scale tickets to produce required forms, emails document copies to customers and mails originals, verifies container numbers from invoices/scale tickets to pictures and applies for phytosanitary certificates when necessary.

Verify correct information on bills of  lading or seaway b/ls.

Verify correct information within computer system

Cash Receipts, Accounts Payable associated with receipt of goods.

Discounts invoices as instructed

Send documents to customers in a timely manner

Education and/or Experience:                                                    

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
